- reassign students who will move to a new building to stops for that school
- import or enter new kindergarteners
- adjust routes for new students and remove stops without students
- notify parents - through newspaper postings, letters or post cards
- print new route packages for drivers - routes with riders, driving directions, route maps
If you have many students who change schools each year, you should make sure Eligibility Coding/Placement Lines are setup for your SD to cut down on the work needing to be done each spring.
Happy planning.
TIMING
ReplyDeleteJust a couple of notes on timing.
If your district has a kindergarten enrollment, perhaps in April, then you may want to wait until the results of that are available to do your rollup.
Most schools these days can download student information from the student management software, so that could save you a lot of work at rollup time also.
BUT, YOU SAY .. you need next year's data, not current grades.
IT GETS BETTER.. most student management software can now give you a "next year" student data download by sometime in the spring.
SO BE NICE to your district techie folks and they could be a big part of your solution (they don't bite!)
